Are You a Fan of Coffee? 4 Reasons You Should Include It In Your Skincare Routine

Wake up and smell the coffee. Then after you’ve enjoyed your much needed morning brew, save the leftover coffee beans to be used as part of your beauty routine.

We’re not joking! Not only can coffee start your day off in a good way, it also comes with a list of skincare benefits. It can be used for a number of reasons and it’s cheap and convenient.

Not convinced? We think you will be after hearing our reasons for why you should be utilising coffee in your beauty regime.

Soothe Puffy Eyes

Coffee isn’t just amazing at giving you energy on a dreary Monday morning; it can also wake up your skin. Leave any leftover coffee grounds cool down before touching them, then apply them to the skin underneath your eyes. You should leave this for around 15-20 minutes before washing off. This should soothe them pesky bags under your eyes.

Maintain Dark Hair Colour

If you have trouble with maintaining a dark hair colour after it’s been dyed, coffee can actually make it last longer. Make two strong cups of coffee using fresh grounds and allow it to cool down completely. Once it’s cooled (this is important), you should pour it over your hair and then wrap it up in a shower cap. It’s recommended that you keep it on for an hour or two before rinsing with cold water. Who needs expensive shampoo?

Anti Aging

We love sipping on a hot cup of coffee every morning, but we love it even more now that we know it can be used for anti aging. No more wrinkles? Sign us up! You need to blend two parts of coffee grounds with one part of water – and a drop of tea tree oil. Once this has all been mixed together, you should massage into your face for 5-10 minutes and then rinse it off!

Reduce Cellulite

What is that we hear? Coffee can minimise the appearance of cellulite? It can’t remove it (boo) but the exfoliation and massage work together to tighten the skin! It does this by stimulating your blood flow. You should add four tablespoons of olive oil to 6 tablespoons of finely grounded coffee beans – then add to cellulite areas.
